Within E-Data, our Enterprise Analytics group is searching for a Sr BI Analyst to build innovative analytics and dashboards using clinical trial data. This role will involve a great deal of interacting with partners to understand requirements, design and development work using SQL and visualization tools, as well as creating and following test plans to ensure quality analytics are being produced

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Provides support for incoming data requests, gathers user requirements and designs the functional specifications for analytical reports, dashboards, and analysis. Develops reports and dashboards using multiple data sources and various software and reporting tools to drive efficiencies, establish customer satisfaction, and identify and resolve data issues

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supports incoming data requests, captures user requirements and designs the functional specifications for analytical reports, dashboards or analysis.

Develops reports and dashboards from multiple data sources using various software tools and reporting tools to identify and resolve data issues.

Assists users with data extrapolation from multiple sources; generates summary data.

Develops, codes and tests queries and reports against various databases based on user-specified criteria to fulfill user requirements.

Develops the scope and design of reports and dashboards by working closely with the requestors.

Applies comprehensive business knowledge and detailed understanding of database structure and capabilities to filter and guide business user requests.

Follows guidelines and conventions to ensure data is entered into key PPD systems, databases and/or tools appropriately to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.

Delivers and/or supports training to project teams and users on reporting tools, systems and functionality

Job Qualification

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years)

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases

Experience with Business Intelligence Visualization tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, etc.

Experience and or familiarity with HTML, Java Script, CSS (preferred)

Ability to fix, problem solve and think critically

Ability to multitask, prioritize and pay close attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Skill to organize and analyze interpret data trends

Ability to focus on project work and efficiently bring projects to completion

Showed strength in office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel)

Ability to effectively lead projects, budgets and timelines

Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities
